It was with great sadness that, after many years, we had to give up the Furniture Project. Lesley the shop manager had been with us for over 10 years as had some of her merry band of volunteers. The cost of insuring the van after the theft of two catalytic convertors and one starter motor, combined with the fall in donations, made the project unsustainable.
Realising the need for the project in Windhill, we approached Newlands Furniture Project who had shops, a warehouse, a van and a team of workers and asked them if they would be interested in taking over the shop in Windhill. Within a couple of weeks the transfer was made and it was service as usual in the Windhill shop.
