Introduction We have been very successful with re-commissioning and have secured another two years funding from NHS Bradford and Airedale. This means the Nutrition and Health activities will continue with Nazia Naureen our Nutritional Development Worker. Nazia be running her Cook and Eat Sessions and Nutritional Sessions alongside a new Exercise Session. The exercise is a gentle seated one with the option of a standing routine and is aimed at individuals who are over 50 and are less able to do an energetic routine. The session is only 30 minutes in total and has incorporated some fun movements to get individuals smiling. Day trips out are still being organised come rain or shine! There is more demand for Healthy Eating Sessions at Windhill School and sessions have been booked with Reception class. The adult walking sessions have been replaced with the exercise |
sessions but the Baby & Toddler Group at Windhill School are still walking every four weeks. Nazia is still involved with recruiting volunteers for the cafe and helping out whenever she can around healthier meals. So if you have a flavour for food, why not volunteer in the cafe? Come and give it a trial run and see how you feel. Contact Nazia for more information.

Walking Group: The walking group has been a bit hit and miss with the adults. However, the Baby & Toddler Group have been walking since 2009 and it has been a real success with this group. The group have walked in parks and woods in and around the Bradford area. The children have had activities to do whilst walking and nothing has stopped them walking not even the bitterly cold winter we have had! |

Day Trips Out |
||
|
There was a free day trip to the Good Food Show in November. We went to the N.E.C, Birmingham to enjoy free food tasting from around the world, and see celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. See photos here.
We hope to organise more free treats like this in the near future. |
So if you’re interested why not join any of the above activities or volunteer and take advantage of all the fantastic opportunities we have on offer as well as improving your health and well being in the process! |

Future Events |

There will be a visit to a farm with the Baby & Toddler Group sometime in May. There is also going to be a special cook and eat around Polish food for the residents of Windhill to come and sample, sometime in May or June. Watch out for dates on the website in April. We are hoping to go to the Good Food Show again this year and then run a couple of workshops afterwards around what individuals have |
experienced and try new recipes and have the residents of Windhill come and sample the cuisine. This trip will be offered to cafe & Food Co-op volunteers as well as all the parents/carers who have been on the Cook and Eat courses and Nutrition and Health sessions run this year. |
